Intimate & Exclusive Experience

At Fork & Walk our concept is small, intimate tours with a maximum of 8 guests, to ensure we are delivering the best of Munich food with as close to a one-on-one experience as possible. Our exclusive offer opens the door to be able to visit and taste some of the best local, traditional, up & coming, fusion and immigrant influenced flavours of Munich, without being restricted by contracted locations. We choose and change where we eat based on what is in season or new on the scene. But don’t worry, we always include all the classics that make Munich the showcase of Bavarian cuisine.

The Background

Munich, the home of authentic and traditional German cuisine. This is Germany’s culinary capital. Classic hearty dishes, fatty spreads, exquisite homemade cakes and the home of the beer hall – this is Munich, and you are going to dive into the tastes and flavours of this rich food culture on our  More Than A Viktualienmarkt Tour.

The capital of Bavaria and the third largest city in Germany, Munich is home to Germany’s most famous football club Bayern Munich, and the city holds a unique place in Germany’s colourful history. Learn more about the secrets of the city, as we paint a picture of its history and culture through its food.

Journey beyond the classics…

At Fork & Walk Food Tours, we pride ourselves on providing our guests with a range of taste experiences, such as traditional items like sausages, beer and fresh baked goods, as well as the new direction of Munich gastronomy – its growing coffee scene and funky cafes dishing up a delicious version of our favourites.

Our Munich foodie adventure begins at a Bavarian Wirtshaus from the 17th-century with rich, hearty fare and of course, a pre-midday classic wheat beer. Strolling on with our Bavarian breakfast tucked satisfyingly away, we weave through the laneways of Munich’s historical old city via the impressive Marienplatz with its neo-gothic church and absolute must-see sites and buildings on our way to the world-famous Viktualien Food Market.

An array of Munich culinary delights arouse our senses, as your local foodie guide provides an exclusive in-depth taste and history into the delicious food market. In summer you may be met with a Viktualien picnic featuring a platter of seasonal goods and classic street-food. While in colder months, belly-warming flavours, roasted specialities and warming schnapps may be on your menu. All year-round, our intimate Munich food tour hosts a range of stalwart classics, seasonal tastes, Munich street-food and some truly unique dishes only found at the Viktualien food market.

Feeling full and overly-indulgent, we leave the market behind and go a touch deeper, revealing a picturesque neighbourhood that was home to the city’s original crop of gay venues in the 80s. And now also home to the city’s most upscale areas and boutique shopping.

But of course, there must be one more tasting before we can let you go! Soft & fluffy, with a hint of deliciousness. Now the food entourage comes to a close.
